Why is Self-Awareness and Self-Realization essential in building the foundation as a Customer Service Champion?
It helps one to develop a sense of purpose and meaning in his/her work, which leads to greater job satisfaction and personal fulfillment. When Customer Service Champions are aligned with themselves and the organization, they are more motivated, productive, and satisfied with their work, which leads to better customer experiences.
Self-awareness is the experience of one's own personality or individuality. It is not to be confused with consciousness. While consciousness is being aware of one's environment and body and lifestyle, self-awareness is the recognition of that awareness
Self-realization is the act of achieving the full development of your abilities and talents.
What are the common hurdles faced during Self-Awareness and Self-Realization?
The common hurdles include:
- lack of self-awareness,
- fear of change, and
- resistance to feedback.
Many individuals struggle to identify their strengths and weaknesses. While many others are comfortable with their current situation and may be hesitant to take steps toward personal growth and development. And some individuals may be resistant to feedback, which prevents them from improving their performance.

Activity #1: Self-Awareness, Self-Realization- Your Strong Rock
This activity is a go-to tool to refresh your mind, replenish your energy and guide you through evolving into an amazing professional. You will be guided below with a step-by-step instructions to uncover your capabilities and the areas you can improve. We will use a tool (available for download in .doc and .xls formats, whichever suits you and the device you are using).
Instructions:
1. Use the activity sheet by downloading the file format that suits you:
01_Self-Awareness_Self-Realization_Activity.doc for Word version
or
01_Self-Awareness_Self-Realization_Activity.xls for Excel version
Test which file format you are comfortable using with your laptop or your mobile or you can also print and write from the printed copy.
2. Use the STRENGTHS sheet to write down at least three (3) situations under Actual Situations column a situation or an event in which you felt successful or accomplished in your work. Don't hesitate. Write down anything—whether it was easy, difficult, made a great impact or not, etc. No rules. As long as it is a real situation and based on your experience.

3. Reflect on what personal strength represented in each of those situations, and write it down under the Strength/s column.

4. Next, think of ways you can leverage each of those strengths in your daily work and write it down under the How to leverage? column. This will be your action plan that will guide you to maintain and enhance further that skill/strength.

5. Next, think of what emotion you feel after remembering the Actual Situations you wrote down. Feel the freedom to identify the emotion. Don’t let anyone take it away from you. Write it down at the How did you feel? column.

6. Revisit this activity sheet every week and update the How did you feel? column. Observe how you progress.
7. If you see improvement in the way you feel, celebrate this win and keep trusting your skills.
8. Follow the same steps and examples for the WEAKNESSES sheet to write down at least three (3) situations under Actual Situations column a situation or an event in which you felt weak or failure in your work.
